Below please find some of the most common questions that are asked by potential customers. If you think of additional questions that are not addressed here, please feel free to call our office at (505) 271-2120.
Q: “How do you screen your Home Care Aides?”
A: All of our applicants are extensively interviewed and a thorough reference check is conducted. Criminal background investigations are completed on all new hires. Additionally, all of our Aides are CPR certified, bonded and insured.
Q: “Do you train your Home Care Aides?”
A: Yes. All of our new employees attend a training class conducted by our RN Educator. The training covers agency policies an procedures, how to provide personal care, safe transfer techniques, nutrition, basic housekeeping and how to work with special needs clients, such as those with Alzheimer’s disease. At the conclusion of the training, all employees must pass a written test and return demonstrate skills to our instructor.
Q: “Do you have backup staff available in case my Home Care Aide is sick?”
A: Yes. We maintain a pool of qualified caregivers and therefore normally have available staff to fill in for regularly assigned Aides.
Q: Who pays the Home Care Aide’s salary – the agency or me?
A: The agency. All of our Home Care Aides are employees of the agency and therefore are paid directly through our payroll system. This relieves you from paying taxes and becoming an employer. Additionally, our agency provides workers’ compensation coverage, liability insurance and bonds all of our employees.
Q: Why should I choose your agency over another agency in town?
A: Premier Home Care is committed to providing you and/or your family member with a high quality service. We monitor our employees and work hard to exceed all of your expectations. Please review the following two areas of our web page for additional information: "Mission" and "Our Team".
Q: Does Medicare pay for Homemaker or non-medical home care?
A: No. Medicare does not pay for custodial care. Medicare covers skilled home care services ordered by a doctor.
Q: How do I get services started?
A: Simply call us at (505) 271-2120 to schedule one of our professional team members to come to your home and conduct a complimentary in-home assessment.
